Battle Assault 3 Featuring Mobile Suit Gundam SEED
Gundam fans will definitely like this game, it features a lot of familiar Gundam mechs. The visuals are kind of average and the Fighting system is kind of clunky.
The battles are similar to traditional fighting games, but the full 3D movement and large stages give them a sort of arena-melee feel that differs from what's traditionally considered a fighter. The combat isn't too challenging and only gets hard when the game throws two enemies at you at once.
There are a good amount of extras, from unlockable mechs that series fans should be familiar with to other modes like versus, survival, etc.
Rent first, if you like it then by all means buy it.
This is what happens when you mix 3D, and Gundam Seed.
This game is for serious Hardcore Gundam fans only.
The change from the 2D sprite driven awesomeness of the PS1 classics to a 3D environment much like the Godzilla games is a pretty poor design.
The controls can be clunky with the 3D aspects. If it were in 2D, you could concentrate more on executing moves, but with the Gundam character moving with the camera, it does more harm than good. And the moves can miss with the swiveling camera, and make it hard to focus on an enemy.
The other major problem was going with Gundam Seed for the storyline and license, which sucks. Since Gundam Seed is a bit of a love/hate releationship amongst Gundam fans.
And in which case, most Gundam fans would'nt want to touch Battle Assault 3 with a 10 foot pole, or in this case, a beam sword.
If your a die hard fan of the series, your the only people I could suggest this game to. But even then, this game has to be taken with a grain of Gundanium, if you catch my drift.
Only get it if it's dirt cheap.Read full review
Playing this game on my BWC PS3 I was surprised at how crisp the graphics. The controls are responsive, and the combat is pure fun. The story line is typical Gundam with all of the regulars making appearances. In short this game is fun, fun, fun!
This game is graphically unappealing. Gameplay is boring and redundant. Controls are sloppy and cumbersome. Special moves are not special at all. I'm a huge Gundam fan, but I stopped playing this after about 30 minutes. I simply couldn't tolerate such a poor representation of Gundam Seed. Playing this game felt like the developers and programmers made this with their eyes closed while half asleep. It seemed like they made very little effort to make this game even remotely enjoyable. It was perhaps the most wasteful and disappointing game purchase I have ever made. I bought this off of EBAY for $25 and put it up for auction after I played it once. I was only able to get $10 for it so at least one person here didn't overpay for it...not me. If you are a diehard Gundam Seed fan, you might find controlling the mobile suits fun initially. Once the novelty wears off though, you will realize this was a poorly made game.Read full review
If your are Gundam Seed fan then you will enjoy this game. It isn't the most exciting or enthralling game ever, but being able to control your favorite mobile suit and fight with it is a blast! A fantastic game for Gundam fans.
